Marukan Vinegar’s Assistant Brewery Manager, Teddy Blalock, presented a donation check for $10,000 to Superintendent, Keith Simmons of Griffin Spalding County Schools Partners In Education. This money will help fund scholarships, grants and other support for students and staff.
Through this donation, one of the scholarships Marukan helps support is the Reach Georgia Scholarship Program in the Griffin Spalding County School System. This is a needs-based scholarship and the applicants are current 8th grade students. The Partners In Education (PIE) Board each year selects 5 students (this year over 200 applied) that are chosen based on a review of their application and supporting essay. The school system will also be putting up four billboards around Griffin honoring these great students and sponsors. Congratulations to all of the scholarship recipients!
