How do you use it?
Rice Vinegar can be used simply to replace regular vinegar in any recipe or application, for a lighter and less pungent flavor.
What is the difference between Marukan Genuine Brewed Rice Vinegar and Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Vinegar?
Seasoned Gourmet is produced from water and short grain rice, with added sugar and salt. Thus, the rice vinegar is “seasoned”, to give it a great light and zesty taste. Seasoned Gourmet is widely used in making sushi rice. It also makes an excellent salad dressing, just use it right out of the bottle! Also, it is great for replacing vinegar in your favorite recipes for marinades and grilling sauces.
Why Lite Rice Vinegar Dressing?
Marukan uses one-third less sugar and salt, in our Lite Rice Vinegar Dressing, to bring you a lighter dressing. This product is terrific for someone desiring to lower his or her sugar and/or salt intake. Lite also has 40% fewer calories than Seasoned Gourmet, too!
Are Marukan products fat-free, and low in calories?
YES! All Marukan Vinegars are fat-free. Also, Genuine Brewed Rice Vinegar has zero calories. Seasoned Gourmet has just 25 calories per serving (1 Tbsp) and Lite, just 15 calories per serving!
How long do Rice Vinegars last? And, should I refrigerate after opening?
The shelf life is two years. No, rice vinegar does not require refrigeration, just store at room temperature only.
Are Marukan products Kosher?
Yes, we are certified “Kosher Parve” by the “Star K” Kosher Organization.
Are Marukan vinegars gluten free and GMO free?
Yes! all of Marukan’s RICE VINEGARS are gluten free and GMO free. Our rice vinegars are produced from rice crops that are not genetically modified in any way. Although our vinegars are gluten-free, our Soy Ponzu Dressings (which are bottled at the same brewery) may contain a trace of wheat from the soy sauce used in that product line. The Food and Drug Administration allows companies to label a product as “Gluten Free” if the gluten from the wheat can be shown to have been removed during processing. Therefore, the Ponzu products are labeled “Gluten Free” with this disclaimer.
Do you produce your vinegars naturally?
Yes, we practice a natural brewing process, many centuries old, by a traditional fermentation method, without the use of chemicals or artificial flavorings.
