Marukan Becomes New Partner in Education

Marukan has committed to a partnership with the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) by contributing $10,000 to Griffin-Spalding Partners In Education (PIE) during the grand opening of our new Griffin, Georgia brewery. Inc., James Smith, Superintendent, Griffin-Spalding County School System and Teddy Blalock, Assistant Brewery Manager, Marukan (U.S.A.) Inc.

Marukan agreed to be a district-wide PIE with a focus on Futral Road Elementary, Rehoboth Road Middle School and Spalding High School. In addition, we committed our support to the Georgia REACH Scholarship program at Rehoboth Road Middle School, the annual PIE Golf Tournament and the annual Teacher of the Year program.

PIE Board Chair Stephanie Windham stated, “Griffin-Spalding Partners In Education is excited to welcome Marukan Vinegar as a new partner. Marukan’s generous contribution will allow PIE to provide more resources to our schools to support both students and staff.  We look forward to working with Marukan and its employees to explore hands-on opportunities to make our partnership even stronger.”

Griffin-Spalding Partners In Education is a 501©3 school-business partnership organization. It was founded in 1982 with the mission of improving the quality of education for students in the Griffin-Spalding County School System.

We are so honored to be a part of this wonderful organization and look forward to working with the Griffin-Spalding School System and PIE.
