This week we celebrated our 370 Year Anniversary in Japan and 45th year of business in the U.S. with an incredible event at our Paramount, CA headquarters. The event began with a historical video presentation of our company, followed by a wonderful speech from Mr. Denzaemon Sasada, Owner, Chairman and CEO of Marukan Vinegar Co. Ltd. Next and perhaps one of the highlights of this event was was the traditional breaking of the sake barrel along with a toast from the Mayor of the City of Paramount!
Following the breaking of the sake barrel was an exhilarating and heart-pounding Taiko drum performance by The Taiko Project! Guests were then treated to delicious cuisine made with Marukan Rice Vinegars and Ponzu Sauces – you can check out some of these recipes like the Escoveitch Salmon, Soba Noodle Salad and Tart Cherry Boost Drink here
The event also featured amazing sushi from Chef Andy Matsuda of the Sushi Chef Institute, and even had two rice cooking stations where guests witnessed their fried rice made first hand! To end on a sweet note, guests enjoyed a dessert table filled with Mochi and treats made by the students from the culinary program at Cerritos College.
This was a truly beautiful event and we look forward to celebrating many more years with our Marukan team and our customers!
